Top Five Vegan Easter Eggs | Viva! - The Vegan Charity

Easter is traditionally a holiday to celebrate life. It feels ironic that modern culture has taken the egg that symbolises this and used ingredients that supports a deathly industry to mark the joyous occasion.

As veganism popularises, cruelty free Easter eggs are taking off, so we have reviewed five of the eggs we stock at our Viva! Shop.

Coco Caravan – Vegan Caramel Mini Easter Eggs

Price: £6

Review: These soft-centred little eggs are handmade and filled with a sweet vegan caramel that makes each small egg a big treat. You get 8 caramel filled Easter eggs in each 80g box. I absolutely loved them and had to share them with my friends so they placed their orders, in time for Easter.

Goupies Egg – Salty Sticky Toffee

Price: £10

Review: Each of these eggs comes in a differently decorated metal case that you can of course keep! I’m going to re-use mine and fill it with more treats for my vegan nieces Easter egg hunt. The salt to toffee ratio is perfect. If you haven’t tried a salted chocolate before, I highly recommend you do. It’s a tantalising taste.

Moo Free – Cheeky Orange Egg

Price: £4.25

Review: You may remember the dairy-based orange chocolate which I refuse to indirectly promote…hint, it broke up into segments. Well, this is better. Not only is it cruelty free but it is a light chocolate, with a rich orange flavour that melts in your mouth, and I couldn’t stop eating it.

Beech’s Dark Chocolate Fondant Eggs

Price: £2.99

Review: The word fondant made me extra eager to get into the packaging – so much so, I was tearing the box open with my teeth. Shock horror, our canines tear through paper! Once I was in, I wasn’t disappointed. The texture and taste contrast of the rich dark chocolate to the creamy smooth centre was a delicious drippy surprise that works perfectly.

Montezumas Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Mini Eggs

Price: £3.99

Review: Peanut butter mini eggs! I was sold by the idea of these eggs alone. They have a reasonably firm chocolate shell and then your teeth sink into a softer and somewhat crumbly centre. If you are a peanut butter fan, then these are for you. Be warned, they are mightily moreish!
