Many of us have been waiting in anticipation for plant-based meat company Tofurky and plant-based cheese manufacturer, Violife, to launch a vegan sandwich line and I am delighted to tell you that day has arrived. This launch combines two of the greatest vegan food brands and we can’t wait to try their products!
I mean, how many times have you gone to a service station and seen falafel as the only option or got frustrated at the pointless milk in vegetarian sandwiches?
The Tofurky (and Violife) sandwiches will be on the shelves in the next few weeks and can be found at Whole Foods stores across the UK. The delicious range of sarnies include:
Chick'n and Sweet Corn
TLT
Ham Style Salad
Tempeh Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato
Buffalo Tofurky Chik’n Baguette
Chipotle Chick'n and Tofurky Ham, Cheese, Lettuce and Tomato.
Seth Tibbot from Tofurky said “The massive growth in veganism and meat reduction in the UK, coupled with almost no vegan options in the Grab and Go market, make this a perfect time to launch a range of Tofurky sandwiches in the UK”, they ain't wrong - this makes great business sense and I can’t wait to see even more vegan options on the shelves, hopefully and especially at service stations!
It is my understanding that Tofurky is working with a British wholesaler to sell their products across the UK. With over half a million vegans in this country it's about time we got some more grab and go options. We may have to wait until early next year but it will be worth the wait!
