5 Best Vegan Recipes for BBQ Season | Viva! - The Vegan Charity

Wondering what to have on your vegan BBQ? We’ve chosen our top five Vegan Recipe Club recipes for you!

Summer is well and truly underway, meaning that many of us are firing up the BBQs for a socially distanced sunny afternoon in the garden. We’ve got plenty of inspiration for an amazing vegan BBQ on Vegan Recipe Club, but we’ve compiled our favourite five recipes below!

Seitan & Beetroot Burgers

These burgers are packed with flavour and fabulous texture, making them sure to ‘wow’ even the most sceptical of dinner guests. The smoky flavour from the BBQ really takes them to the next level, especially when paired with a dollop of vegan mayo and some salad leaves in a bun.

Nutty Mushroom Sausages

If you’re looking for a gluten-free or soya-free BBQ option, this is the recipe for you. These homemade vegan sausages combine beautiful herbs with mushrooms and your favourite nuts for a truly unique vegan BBQ.

Tofu Satay Skewers

Satay skewers are a favourite at any BBQ, so we’ve created these amazing tofu satay skewers that can rival any on the table. The sticky peanut sauce perfectly sizzles on the BBQ creating crispy tofu. Add onion, pepper and mushrooms to the skewers for a bigger flavour hit.

Gemista (Greek Stuffed Peppers & Tomatoes)

Greek cuisine is great for veganising because of the fresh ingredients, and this recipe is no different! The colourful veggies make it a beautiful addition to any BBQ, and you could even try wrapping the peppers and tomatoes in tin foil and cooking them over the coals once they’re a bit cooler.

5 Minute Kale Salad

No BBQ would be complete without a refreshing salad. This quick and healthy side can be thrown together in a flash with whichever veggies you have in the fridge. It’s super healthy and tasty, you can practically feel the nutrients nourishing your body as you eat!
