Roger Roberts cycles 969 miles to raise money to save animals | Viva! - The Vegan Charity

Ride Across Britain with Team Viva!

The fantastic Roger Roberts has cycled the whole length of Britain - a whopping 969 miles - for Viva!.

From 9th-17th September 2017, Roger cycled a grueling average of 107 miles per day. Despite having not cycled for several years, Roger has decided to take on this amazing challenge in order to raise money for Viva!.

Roger is celebrating having been vegan for 34 years. He is passionate about helping Viva! to continue to campaign for a kinder world.

His trip, from Land’s End to John O’Groats, took nine days of hard cycling to complete and was entirely plant-powered. The journey took place in various kinds of terrain - everything from peaceful country lanes to chilly mountainous areas.

Prior to the trip, Roger undertook months of hard training in order to build up to the long daily mileage and hilly terrain which he cycled in September.

Roger says:

Going vegan, vegetarian or reducing meat and dairy consumption is a hugely positive step to take in life and, through its campaigning and educational work, Viva! helps and advises those who want to alleviate animal suffering, improve their health, assist the world's poor and tread more lightly on the Earth.

Roger raised £4000 for Viva!’s work, which was absolutely amazing! Congratulations and thank you Roger!
